  1. While the realities of our technical evolution are evident all around us we also have to understand that in order for that technolgy to fluorish there have to be some fundamental abilities in place. Such as reading proficiency
and the fundamental understanding of math and science.

When our young people are coming out of school unprepared to read this blog you have got a real problem.

Couldn't agree more! The work at hand is extraordinarily comprehensive and requires a simultaneous focus across broad educational horizons.

As the former director of the McMath-Hulbert Observatory in Lake Angelus I can remember when Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM)were not deemed to be very important to K-12 education. What a difference a couple of years and a total global economic disaster makes.

One would think it would not take these kinds of events and subsequent manitudes of order to awaken us to rudimentary educational expectations, but alas it was not so.

I beleive this singular issue is our national 21st Century challenge. May God be with us.

    Best,

    Jim
